Signing In Without a Password

Set up a passkey so you can sign in with your face, fingerprint, or screen lock.

Signing In Without a Password

A passkey lets you sign in with the same face, fingerprint, or screen lock you already use to unlock your phone or computer — no password to type or remember. It's faster, and it's harder for anyone else to guess or steal than a password.

Adding a passkey

  1. Go to Your Profile.
  2. Find the Passkeys section and tap Add a passkey.
  3. Give it a name so you can tell your devices apart later — we'll suggest one for you (like "My iPhone"), or you can type your own. This step is optional.
  4. Follow your device's prompt — Face ID, fingerprint, or your screen lock PIN.

That's it — your passkey is ready to use next time you sign in.

Signing in with a passkey

Next time you sign in, just tap the email box and your device will offer your passkey — choose it and confirm with your face, fingerprint, or screen lock.

Renaming or removing a passkey

Head back to the Passkeys section on Your Profile anytime:

  • Tap Rename next to a passkey to give it a clearer name.
  • Tap Remove to take a passkey off your account. We'll ask you to confirm first.

If a passkey is the only way you have to sign in — no password on file and no other passkey — we won't let you remove it. Add another passkey first so you don't get locked out.

Synced across your devices

Many devices (like your iPhone with iCloud Keychain, or your Android phone with Google Password Manager) automatically sync your passkey to your other devices signed in with the same account. You'll see a "Synced across your devices" note next to any passkey that works this way — so losing one device doesn't mean losing the ability to sign in.

You can always fall back

Passkeys are optional. You can still sign in with your password anytime, and if you ever lose access to your passkey and don't have a password set, account recovery using your email and phone number will get you back in.
