Chorus: Let People Leave Notes

Open your album to loving messages from friends and family — like a memory book, but online.

What the Chorus does

The Chorus is the writable layer on your album. While it's on, everyone with permission — you, your co-editors, your invited members, and the guests you approve — can post messages, written stories, photos, videos, audio recordings, GIFs, and files together, and leave comments and reactions. Think of it as the signature page of a memory book, except everyone gets to write in it, not just sign it.

Adding a GIF

When you tap the plus button in the Chorus, one of the choices is Pick a GIF. Type a word or two, choose the GIF you like, and it'll be added to your post. GIFs are only available in the Chorus — they don't appear in album posts or comments.

Starting the Chorus

  1. Open your album and go to the Chorus tab.
  2. If you haven't turned it on yet, you'll see a page explaining what it does. Tap Turn on Chorus — $15/month.
  3. Enter your card details right on the page and confirm. Your subscription covers every album you own, not just this one.

Choosing how open it is

On the Chorus tab you can choose:

  • Only people you invite — guests need to be on your invite list.
  • Invited + people who ask to join — anyone who finds the album can request access, and you review each request before they can post. (Only available when your album is set to public viewing.)

Other helpful toggles

  • Text messages only. Turn this on if you'd rather guests skip photos, videos, and GIFs and just leave a written note.
  • Replies. Decide whether guests can reply to each other's messages, comment on your album's photos and stories, or keep everything one-way.
  • Chorus on this album. Once you're subscribed, each album has its own on/off switch — so you can keep one album's Chorus open and another one closed.

Storage

While the Chorus is on, you'll see a little bar at the top of the Chorus tab showing how much of your 20 GB of Chorus space you've used so far. This is separate from the storage your own photos and videos use — your guests' messages, photos, and videos have their own room to grow.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time from the same tab. Your Chorus stays open through the end of the current billing period. After that, the Chorus goes read-only for everyone — you, your co-editors, your members, and your approved guests all stop being able to post, comment, or react on the Chorus until you subscribe again. Past messages, photos, videos, and replies all stay visible — nothing is ever deleted.

Your album itself is unaffected — the Album purchase already gives you and your co-editors lifetime editing of your own photos, videos, audio, and stories, so the album side keeps working exactly as before.
