When a photo needs your attention

Sometimes a photo or note is held back for a quick safety check — here's how to find it, fix it, and share it.

When a photo needs your attention

To keep everyone's memories safe and welcoming, we run a quick check on the things added to an album. Most of the time you'll never notice it — your photos, videos, and notes simply go live as usual. Every now and then, though, the check pauses one item and sets it aside for you to take a second look. When that happens, the rest of your album carries on exactly as planned; only that one item waits.

This is completely normal, it's nothing to worry about, and it's easy to put right.

Why an item might be held back

The check looks for anything that might not be a good fit for a shared keepsake. It isn't a judgment about you — sometimes it simply isn't sure, so it errs on the side of caution and asks you to confirm. You're always in control: you can adjust the item and send it through again, or leave it set aside if you'd rather.

Where to find items that need attention

  1. Open your album and go to Workspace → Media (the photos and videos area).
  2. Look for a group called Needs attention. Anything that's been set aside is gathered there so it's easy to find.
  3. The rest of your album stays right where it is — only the held-back item sits in this group.

How to fix it and share it

  1. In the Needs attention group, tap the item you'd like to sort out.
  2. Make any change you like — swap in a different photo or video, trim it, or reword the caption.
  3. Tap Resubmit.
  4. We'll run the quick check again. If everything looks good, the item rejoins your album like normal.

If you'd rather not include the item at all, you can simply delete it from the Needs attention group and move on.

The rest of your album publishes as usual

While one item waits in Needs attention, nothing else is held up. Everything that passed the check is live for your guests just as you intended, so a single held-back photo never stops you from sharing the album.

The same gentle check applies to a few other things

This quick safety check also runs on your album's title and introduction and on comments people leave:

  • If your album's title or intro text needs a second look, we'll let you know so you can tweak the wording and save it again.
  • If a comment can't be shared, you'll see a gentle note right where it was written, and you're welcome to try again.
Good to know: if you ever feel something was set aside by mistake, just reach out to us — we're happy to take a look and help.
