A paused circle subscription
Why we sometimes pause a circle subscription, what the circle can still do while it's paused, and how to get it restarted.
Why it's paused
Sometimes one of us pauses a circle's subscription by hand while we sort out a billing problem, such as a disputed payment. It doesn't happen on its own, and it isn't something you can do from your account.
Nothing is charged, and nothing is deleted
While the subscription is paused, you aren't charged for it. Nothing is deleted: everything the circle has shared stays where it is, and nobody is removed from the circle.
What the circle has while it's paused
- Room for as many people as a free circle has (or a lower limit set for the circle). Everyone already in the circle stays in and nobody is paused, but new people can only join while there's room.
- Posts from the past 30 days. Older posts are kept, and come back when the subscription restarts.
- No new sharing albums. Sharing albums already made stay open.
- Picture frames pause. They stay set up and start again when the subscription restarts.
The circle's owner can still download everything the circle has shared at any time.
Restarting it
Only we can restart a paused subscription, and there's no charge to restart it. Once it's back, the circle has everything again: room for more people, every post, new sharing albums, and picture frames.
- Open our Contact Us page.
- Choose Billing as the category.
- Tell us the circle's name and that you'd like its subscription restarted. Complete the security check and tap Send Message.
