Find your unfinished drafts in a circle
Everything you start writing in a Circle is saved as you type. Here is how to pick it back up or throw it away.
Your drafts are saved as you type
When you start writing in your Circle, we keep what you have written, photos included, as you go. Close the page or switch phones, and your draft is where you left it. Only you can see your drafts.
Finding your drafts
- Open your Circle.
- Under the box where you write, choose Your drafts. It appears once you have a draft and shows how many drafts you have.
- The Drafts page lists what you have saved in this Circle, with when you last worked on it.
Carrying on with a draft
- On the Drafts page, choose Continue beside your note or photos.
- You are taken back to your Circle, with your words and photos waiting in the writing box.
A story is marked Story on the Drafts page. Choose Continue beside it and that story opens in the story editor, just as you left it — even if you have more than one story saved.
If your Circle is closed, you can still see or discard your drafts, but you can't continue writing.
Earlier versions of a story
Your story keeps up to 20 saved versions, one for each time you open the editor and write. Autosaves during the same sitting update that version. To go back to one, open the story, then in the More menu (the three dots at the top of the page) choose Restore a version, pick a version and choose Restore this version. Restoring an earlier version puts its title and words back into your draft and saves a new version. Only you can see this history; restoring does not publish the story.
Throwing a draft away
- On the Drafts page, choose Discard.
- We ask Throw this away? first. Choose Throw away to delete it, or Keep writing to keep it.
Once a draft is thrown away, it can't be brought back.
