Show family photos on a digital frame

Picture frames need a Circle subscription. Your frames stay listed if the subscription ends.

A picture frame linked to your Circle shows the newest photos shared there, on its own. Handy for someone who doesn't use a phone much.

A frame only ever shows photos. It never shows notes, captions, comments, names, or dates, and it never shows anything that has been hidden or taken down.

Frames need a subscription

Picture frames need a subscription for your Circle. Without one, frames pause and stop receiving photos. Frames you set up stay listed and start showing photos again when the subscription starts again. You do not need to set them up again.

While frames are paused, you can still rename them, change what they show, create a new link, or remove them. You need a subscription to add a new frame.

Who can set up a frame

The person who started the Circle, its owner, adds, changes, and removes frames. If that isn't you, ask the owner to set it up for you.

A frame belongs to the whole Circle, so someone leaving does not remove it. It shows photos while your Circle has a subscription.

Setting up a frame

  1. Open your Circle, choose Circle options, then Circle settings.
  2. Under Picture frames, choose Add a frame.
  3. Give it a name so you can tell your frames apart, like "Living room".
  4. Under What it shows, choose what it shows: every photo in the Circle, just one album, or just one chapter.
  5. Choose Copy link, then paste the frame's private link into your picture frame's setup. We show this link only once, so keep it handy until the frame is set up.

Changing or removing a frame

  • Choose Change beside a frame to rename it or change what it shows.
  • Lost the link, or worried someone else has it? Choose New link beside the frame. The old one stops working straight away, so enter the new one on your frame.
  • Choose Remove when you no longer need a frame. It stops showing photos straight away.

If your Circle is closed, you can still see your frames and choose Remove, but Add a frame, Change, and New link come back only once the Circle is reopened.

Keep the link private

Anyone with a frame's link can see the photos it shows, so keep it private. Don't post it or share it outside your Circle. If it ever gets out, choose New link or Remove.
