Music in your circle

Listen to the music in a collection, and choose whether an audio post is filed as music, a voice recording, or unknown.

Listen to a collection

  1. Open a collection in your circle and choose Listen when it is available.
  2. Use the audio controls to play or pause a song. The title comes from the file details when available, otherwise from the post title or file name.
  3. Choose Open source post to read the original post. Choose Grid to return to the cards.

Only audio filed as music appears in the Listen view. Voice recordings and audio with an unknown role stay out. Leaving this view stops its audio.

Choose an audio role

Open an audio post you can edit and choose Edit details from its menu. In Audio role, choose Music, Voice, or Unknown under File this audio as, and it is saved as soon as you choose, with a short Audio role saved. message. There is no Save button. Music can appear in the Listen view of collections that include the post. This choice does not change transcription.

Ordinary uploads and older audio start as unknown. Audio made with the circle recorder or sent by phone starts as voice. You can change your own circle posts; circle owners and admins can also change eligible circle posts. Audio shared from an album is not edited here.

If the audio changes while your choice is being saved, the page loads its current role and asks you to review it. Choose the role again when you are ready; your older selection is not applied automatically.

Closed circles and missing music

You can listen to available music in a closed circle, but cannot change audio roles. Music that is removed, hidden, or no longer available to you may disappear when the music list refreshes.
