Why are my photos grouped into a chapter?
A weekend or a trip that brought lots of photos at once appears as a single cover tile you can tap into.
Why a group appears
When several photos arrive from around the same time — a birthday, a weekend at the lake, a week away — we gather them into one group, so they don't push everything else out of sight.
What it looks like
The group shows up in your Circle as a single tile: one cover picture, a name, and how many photos are inside. It sits with the day the photos are from, in amongst everything else.
Seeing everything inside
Tap the tile and the group opens on its own page with all of its photos together. Everything works there the way it does in the Circle — open a photo full screen, react, comment, or save one to your device. When you are finished, the link at the top takes you back to your Circle.
If a group has no cover picture yet
Now and then a group appears with a plain cover instead of a photo. That usually means its pictures are still being prepared, or that you have hidden the ones we would have used. The group still opens normally.
"Grouped by ShareLocket"
Under a group's name there's a short line saying who put it together. Grouped by ShareLocket means we made it automatically, as this article describes. If someone in the circle made the group themselves, it says Made by their name — see Create your own chapter in a circle in this Help panel for how that works, and for how to rename either kind of group.
