Changing your Circle's name

The person who set up the Circle can change its name at any time. The new name shows up everywhere: on the website, at the top of the daily email, and in the texts people get.

Everyone's circle email address and the phone number people send photos to stay the same, so anyone who has saved them can keep sending without doing anything.

Closing a Circle you're finished with

Some Circles are for a season — a wedding, a summer, a trip. When it's run its course, the person who set it up can close it. Here's what that means:

• Everything shared stays. Every photo, note, recording, and comment is still there to look through, and you can still download any of it.
• Nothing new gets added. New photos, texts, emails, voice messages, comments, and reactions are all paused.
• It stays on your shelf. A closed Circle isn't hidden or deleted. It sits with your others, marked as closed.
• You can open it again any time. Closing is never permanent, and reopening puts everything back as it was.
• Months not yet used aren't returned. The month already under way runs to its end. Months the Circle hasn't started yet, including any waiting behind a card subscription, aren't returned. Closing doesn't change card billing itself; cancel that separately if you want it to stop.

What everyone else sees

If someone sends a photo or message to a closed Circle, we write back to say it isn't taking new messages. Nothing they send disappears without a word, and nothing already shared is affected.
