When a Premium payment doesn't go through
What to try when your card is declined for a circle's Premium, and how to update your card so a subscription keeps going.
Payment trouble? Let's sort it out.
Sometimes a card payment for a circle's Premium doesn't go through, when you first add it or when a subscription renews. It happens to everyone. Here are a few simple things to try:
- Double-check the card number, expiration date, and security code. One wrong digit is usually the culprit.
- Make sure your billing address matches the one your bank has on file.
- Try a different card if you have one handy. Some banks block new online charges until you confirm them.
- Give it a minute and try again. Occasionally the connection to the bank is briefly busy.
If a renewal didn't go through
If we emailed you that a payment for your circle failed, update your card and we'll try again:
- Go to My Account.
- Under Your circles' Premium status, tap Manage beside the circle. You can also use Manage in Stripe under Invoices and payment method.
- Update your card on the secure page run by Stripe, our payment provider.
Nothing in your circle is deleted while a payment is sorted out.
Still stuck? Use the Still stuck? Get in touch link at the bottom of the Help panel, and we'll help you get your circle's Premium going.
