Group album photos into pages
Group related photos and videos into pages, drag them to reorder them, and add an optional title, description, or date range.
Organizing photos with pages
Pages keep related photos and videos together — like all the photos from the ceremony, or every video from a birthday party.
Creating a page from a bulk upload
The quickest way to create a page is to upload several files at once:
- Tap the + button on your album.
- Choose Photo, Video, or PDF (or Bulk Upload).
- Select multiple files at once from your device.
- When you've chosen your files, a new page will be created for you automatically.
When you add several photos at once, we put them in order for you by the date each photo was taken — oldest first — so a batch of holiday photos arrives already telling the story in order. Photos that don't carry a date go at the end of the batch, in the order you picked them. Everything already on your album stays exactly where you left it, and you can always drag anything to a different spot afterwards.
Drag one photo onto another to make a page
If you're already on your album, the easiest way to group two photos or videos is to drag one on top of the other:
- Press and hold a photo or video on your album.
- Drag it on top of another photo or video.
- Hold it there for about a second until you see a blue ring appear around the other item.
- Let go — the two will be grouped into a new page together.
You can add more to the same page the same way: drag them on top of the page. To take one back out of a page, just drag it back to an empty spot on your album.
Rearranging photos on your album
You can also drag photos and videos around to change their order on the album. Just press and hold, then drag to the new spot — no need to hover, just drop it where you want it.
Moving things around with a keyboard
If you prefer to use a keyboard, you can rearrange them too:
- Tab to a photo or video until it has a focus outline.
- Press the Spacebar to pick it up.
- Use the up and down arrow keys to move it through the list.
- Press Spacebar again to drop it in place, or Escape to put it back where it was.
This works the same way inside a page — focus a photo inside, press Spacebar, and use the arrows to rearrange it within the page.
Press Left or Right arrow while holding an item inside a page to move it back to your main album.
Page details are optional
Pages can have a title, a description, and a date range — but none of these are required. If you'd rather just let the photos speak for themselves, that's perfectly fine.
Adding a description to a folder
On the Media tab, open a folder and tap Add a description just under its name. Type a line or two — maybe where the photos were taken, or why they belong together — and click anywhere else to save. Your description appears right under the folder's title on the album.
To change it later, just tap the description and type. To remove it, delete the text and click away.
If your album is already live
If your album is already live, rearranging or grouping photos is held back until you click Publish Changes. Everyone else keeps seeing the album the way they last saw it while you tidy things up. See Publishing changes to a live album for more.
