Invite a co-editor with a private link

Generate a private link you can share with someone you trust — they click, sign in, and help run your album.

Why co-editors use a different path

Co-editors can do almost everything you can on your album — add photos and stories, respond to requests, and help keep things moving. The only things they can't do are publish the album or add other co-editors. Because you're handing someone that much trust, we make co-editor invites a little more personal.

Instead of going out in an email or text blast, you pick a co-editor from the album's circle, or create a private link and share it yourself — over chat, in person, however you like.

Sending a co-editor link

  1. Open your album and go to Workspace → People.
  2. At the top of the page you'll see the Co-editors section.
  3. Tap Add co-editor, or Add another co-editor if you already have one.
  4. Under Choose a circle member, pick someone from the album's circle. They become a co-editor at once, with no link to share.
  5. For someone outside the circle, tap Create a link instead, then copy the link and share it with them.

The link only works once. As soon as someone clicks it and signs in to ShareLocket, they become a co-editor on your album and the link stops working for everyone else.

If you already invited them

No need to undo anything. When the person claims the co-editor link, we automatically clean up any pending invitation for them — they won't end up on your People list twice.

Taking a link back

Changed your mind before the link is used? Tap the remove button next to that link, then Revoke link to confirm. It stops working right away, and you can always make a new one.

How many co-editors can I have?

As many as you like — there's no limit. The one thing we ask is that a co-editor is already in the same circle as the album. If the person you sent the link to isn't in that circle yet, invite them to the circle first; then their co-editor link will work. They must accept the circle invitation even if they already have a ShareLocket account. Until then, their place is reserved and they cannot read circle content or receive its summaries.
