Customize the message you send when inviting people

Make your invitation feel more like you with your own words.

When you invite someone to your album, we send them a friendly email or text message on your behalf. You can put your own words into the email invitation. The text-message invitation uses a fixed message we write for you — here's why, and how to preview both.

Editing your email invitation

  1. Open your album and tap the Invitation tab.
  2. Edit the email message in the top box. As you type, the preview on the right shows what your invite will look like.
  3. That's it — your changes save automatically a moment after you stop typing.

Your text-message invitation

Text-messaging services have very strict guidelines about what can be sent, so we can't let you customize your text invitation. Instead, we send a clear, trusted message for you — and we show you a preview on the Invitation tab of exactly what your invitees will receive, including a private link to your album just for them.

A few things to know

  • Your email message starts with a default that you can leave as-is or change however you'd like.
  • Email messages can be up to 800 characters.
  • We don't allow links in your email message — your invite already includes a unique link to the album just for the person you're inviting.
  • Your name as the album owner is signed at the bottom of every email, no matter who edits the message.

Sharing your contact info

Below the email message you'll find two switches:

  • Show my email address. When this is on, your email appears below your name in the invitation. Replies to the invite come straight to your inbox. Off by default — your email stays private until you decide to share it.
  • Show my phone number. When this is on, your phone number — formatted nicely — appears below your name in the invitation. Off by default. (If you haven't added a phone to your account yet, turning this on won't show anything until you do.)

You can flip either switch on or off any time. New invitations after that change will reflect the choice — already-sent emails are not edited after the fact.

If you ever want to start over, tap Reset to default below the email box.
