Inviting Friends & Family

Share your album so others can view or contribute.

Inviting Others

  1. Open your album and tap the Share button.
  2. Choose how to invite:
    • Link — Copy a shareable link.
    • QR Code — Download a scannable QR code.
    • Email — Send an invitation directly.
  3. Choose whether they can view only or contribute (add photos, videos, and text).

Contributors will need a ShareLocket account to add content. Viewers can see the album without signing up.

Reuse people from your other albums

If you've invited someone before, you don't have to type their info again. Inside the invite popup, choose the My contacts tab to see everyone you've already added to your other albums (the ones you own or co-edit). We hide anyone who was removed or rejected, so the list stays clean. Tick the names you want, tap Add selected, and they'll join the group ready to send.

Bring in your Google contacts

You can also pull names straight from your Google account. Open the invite popup, choose the Google tab, and tap Connect Google. We'll open a small Google window so you can pick the account you want to use and approve read-only access to your contacts — ShareLocket only reads names, emails, and phone numbers, and never makes changes to anything in your Google account. We pull both your saved contacts and the people Google has noticed you email back and forth with, so even if you haven't formally added someone to your address book, they'll usually show up here. Search by name or email to narrow the list, tick the people you want to invite, and tap Add selected. If you ever want to unhook Google, the Disconnect Google link in that tab clears our connection right away.

Saving invitations before publishing

You can start gathering your guest list while your album is still a draft. As you add people, they're saved as unsent — we hold on to their names but don't send anything yet. Unsent invitations count toward your 200-invitation cap while they wait, but you can remove anyone at any time and free up the spot.

When you're ready to share the album, publish it. A new Send all unsent invitations button appears on the People tab — tap it once and every saved invitation goes out at the same time. After that, you can keep sending new invitations one at a time as you think of people to add.

Inviting people in other countries

Text invitations currently reach a limited set of countries. If someone's phone number is from a country we don't yet support, you'll see a notice in the invite popup letting you know we can't send them a text — but you can still invite them by email instead, and they'll get the exact same invitation, just delivered to their inbox. We're working on expanding text support to more countries over time.
