Understanding Post Approval
What the "Awaiting Approval" badge means and what happens next.
What Is Post Approval?
Some albums are set up so that new posts are checked before they appear for everyone to see. This helps album owners keep their albums warm, safe, and full of memories they love.
The "Awaiting Approval" badge
After you submit a photo, message, or voice recording, you may see a small Awaiting Approval badge next to your post. This just means it's waiting for the album owner to give it the thumbs up. You don't need to do anything else — just sit tight.
Automatic checks
Every post is checked automatically first. This is a quick behind-the-scenes step to keep things safe for everyone. It usually happens in just a few seconds.
Album owner review
If the album owner has turned on manual review, they'll get a notification about your post. They'll take a look and either approve it so it shows on the album, or pass on it. Either way, you'll hear back.
If your post couldn't be shared
Occasionally, a post won't make it through — usually because our automatic check flagged something unexpected. If that happens, you'll see a gentle message letting you know. You're always welcome to try again with a different photo or message, and if you think there's been a mistake, feel free to reach out to us.
