About me: bio, birthday, and what's picked up
Tell people a little about yourself, choose whether they see your birth year, and check what your Circle has picked up about you.
A few words about you
Your About me is a few words about you, in your own words. Everyone in your Circles sees it beside your name.
One bio for everywhere, or one for each Circle
- Open About me and write a short bio. This is the one every Circle shows.
- If you'd like to say something different in one Circle — "Grandpa Joe" in one, "Joe from the choir" in another — open My Account, choose that Circle, and write one under Your bio in this circle.
- Clear a Circle's own bio at any time, and that Circle goes back to showing your main one.
There's no Save button. Your bio saves by itself a moment after you stop typing, and you'll see Saved.
Your birthday
Add your date of birth so people know when your birthday is. Everyone in your Circles sees the day and the month.
Your birth year stays private unless you choose to show it. Turn it on or off whenever you like — it's your call, and nobody else can see the year while it's off. Your birthday and that choice save by themselves too.
What your Circle has picked up about you
As people share stories and photos, your Circle notices things they say about you — where you live, what you love, the places you've been. You can see each of those here and tell us whether we got it right.
- Right — it's true, and it stays.
- Not quite — it isn't right, and we stop using it. It no longer shows on your page for anyone else, and your Circle won't lean on it again.
Only you can answer for yourself: nobody else in the Circle can mark something about you as right or not quite. Changed your mind? You can switch your answer at any time.
What people wrote is never changed — "Not quite" only stops your Circle from treating what it picked up as a fact about you.
