Reporting a post, comment, or album
What you can do about something in your circle that doesn't feel right, and how to report a post, comment, or sharing album.
Something in your circle that doesn't feel right
A circle is private to the people in it. Here's what you can do:
- Hide it from your own feed. Nobody else sees a change, and nobody is told. See Hide a post from your own feed.
- Ask the circle's owner or an admin to delete it. They can delete another member's post, and can remove members from the circle. See Manage your circle's posts and members.
- Leave the circle. See How do I leave a circle?
- Tell us. If something in a circle worries you, contact us and say which circle it's in.
Reporting something on a sharing album
On a sharing album, you can report a post, a comment, or the whole album to us. It only takes a moment, and you don't have to explain yourself to anyone.
How to report a post
- Find the post you'd like to report.
- Tap the menu — the three dots (⋯) in its corner.
- Choose Report this post.
How to report a comment
- Find the comment you'd like to report.
- Tap the small round icon with a diagonal line through it, over at the far right of the comment. On a computer, it appears when you move your mouse over the comment.
- Pick the reason that fits best, then tap Submit report.
You'll need to be signed in to report a post or comment.
How to report a whole album
- Open the album.
- Tap Report this album.
- Choose a reason and tap Submit report.
You can report a public album whether or not you have an account — anyone who can see it can flag it.
Choosing a reason
We'll ask you to pick the reason that best fits. You can choose from:
- Spam or scam — unwanted or repetitive content.
- Harassment or bullying — bullying or hurtful behavior.
- Nudity or sexual content — explicit or adult content.
- Hateful or abusive content — attacks on a person or group.
- Impersonation or a fake account — someone pretending to be another person.
- Something else — anything that doesn't fit the options above.
Pick whichever feels closest. There's no wrong answer, and you don't need to get it exactly right.
What happens next
Our team reviews every report personally. The person you reported is never told who reported them. Once you've sent your report, there's nothing else you need to do.
