Deleting a post from your album

Removing a post takes effect right away — here's exactly what happens, including any comments and reactions tied to it.

Deleting a post from your album

Sometimes you'll want to take a memory back down — maybe the photo wasn't quite right, or the moment is one you'd rather keep just for yourself. Deleting a post on your album always takes effect right away, even on a published album, so it disappears for everyone the moment you confirm.

How to delete a post

  1. Open the post you'd like to remove.
  2. Tap the menu (the three dots) and choose Delete.
  3. A small confirmation window will appear summarising exactly what's about to be removed.
  4. If you're sure, tap Delete to confirm. To back out, tap Cancel — nothing will happen.

What the confirmation tells you

Before we remove anything, we show you a quick summary of what's going with it:

  • The post itself.
  • The number of comments on the post that will also be deleted.
  • The number of reactions (hearts, smiles, claps, and the like) that will also be deleted.

The numbers you see are exactly what's about to be removed — there are no surprises after you confirm.

Why deleting is instant (even on a live album)

Most edits on a live album are held back until you click Publish Changes — but deletes are different. If you've decided something shouldn't be on the album any longer, we want to honour that right away rather than make you wait.

Tip: If you only want to take a post down temporarily, look for the Hide option in the same menu instead — it pulls the post off the album without deleting it, so you can put it back later.
