Recipes in Your Circle
Recipes shared in your circle can be gathered into a collection, and anyone in the circle can add one or take one out.
Your circle's recipes, together
When people in your circle share recipes — a pie, the marinade from last summer — ShareLocket can gather them into a collection, so they're easy to find again.
Nothing is moved and nothing is copied. The post stays exactly where it is in your circle. A collection is simply a second way to find it later, when you can remember the dish but not the week.
A new collection starts as a suggestion on your circle's Collections page, and anyone in the circle can keep it, rename it, or set it aside. Once it's kept, it sits on your circle's shelf with everything else you've kept, and new recipes that fit keep arriving in it. See How ShareLocket organizes your circle.
Adding one we missed
- Open the menu on the post that has the recipe in it, and choose Collections.
- Choose Add to a collection, then choose your recipes collection.
You can also choose Edit details from the same menu and pick the collection under Add to this collection.
Your choice stands from then on. We won't change it later, and it stays put even if the post is edited afterwards.
Taking one out
Sometimes we get it wrong and gather up something that isn't a recipe at all. Open the menu on the post, choose Collections, and choose Take out beside the collection. Inside the collection, you can also choose Take out of this collection on the post's card.
Take it out of one and it won't be put back. It comes out for everyone in the circle, and the post itself isn't touched — it stays where it was shared. If it was a mistake, anyone in the circle can add it again with the steps above.
If something you expected isn't there
- It may be too new. We wait a few minutes after a post arrives before we look at it, so there's always time to take something back if it went by mistake. Look again in a few minutes.
- We may not have been sure. If a post isn't clearly a recipe, we leave it alone rather than guess. Add it yourself using the steps above.
- Somebody may have taken it out. Anyone in the circle can, and anyone in the circle can add it again.
- You may have hidden that post. A post you've hidden isn't in the collection for you. It's still there for everyone else.
- The person who shared it may have turned this off for their own posts. Each person decides that for themselves.
What we look at
We read the words — the title, whatever was written with the post, and what was said in a voice message once it's been written out. Where we've switched it on, we also read words that appear in a photo, like a handwritten recipe card, and make a short note of what a photo shows to help us file it — nobody sees that note. We never try to work out who is in a photo, and anyone can turn this off for their own posts.
What we read never leaves the circle it came from. If you're in more than one circle, each one is kept entirely separate.
