How It Works — Start to Finish
A step-by-step tour of creating an Album, from the first photo to a lasting Album with a Chorus.
How It Works
Creating an Album on ShareLocket is gentle and unhurried. Here's every step, in order, so you know what to expect.
1. Start your Album
Creating an album is free — you don't pay until you're ready to share it.
- Sign up with your email, or continue with Apple or Google.
- From your Shelf, tap New Album.
- Give it a simple name, like "Mom's 70th" or "Eleanor's First Year."
- Choose the occasion — a birthday, graduation, memorial, or just "because."
Every album starts in draft mode — private until you choose to share.
2. Add your memories
Albums are built from pages, and each page can hold any mix of:
- Photos from your phone, computer, iCloud, Google Photos, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
- Videos — short clips or long ones, from birthday messages to wedding toasts.
- Audio — record a voice note right from your browser or upload an old recording.
- Stories & notes — write a paragraph or a full story about what the photo means.
- Pre-made page layouts so every page looks polished.
3. Organize the pages
Arrange the album however feels right.
- Drag pages to reorder them.
- Add section headers like "Childhood" or "The Paris Trip" to group related pages.
- Rename pages anytime.
- Mark a page as a draft to finish it later — visitors won't see it until you're ready.
4. Pick a theme
Themes set the colors, fonts, and overall feeling of your album. Try as many as you like — switching is instant, and you'll see a live preview before you commit.
5. Invite co-editors
You don't have to build it alone. Invite a sibling, your partner, or a close friend to help.
- Invite co-editors by email or phone number.
- They can upload photos, videos, audio, and stories just like you.
- You stay in charge — as the owner, you can remove a co-editor anytime.
- Every contribution shows who made it, so family stories keep their author's name.
6. Publish your Album
When your album feels right, publish it. You pay one time — $30 — and that's the only fee for your Album. No subscription, no yearly fee, no time-based editing window.
- Your Album is yours forever, with its own private link (like sharelocket.com/@moms-70th).
- Download a QR code to print on invitations or programs.
- Keep editing anytime — add new photos, write new stories, change settings whenever you like.
Your album is always viewable, always shareable, and never deleted. There is no time-based lockout — you can keep updating it years from now.
7. Add a Chorus (optional)
A Chorus is an optional $15/month add-on that opens up all of your albums for guest contributions — friends and family can leave their own photos, videos, voice notes, and messages alongside yours. It's a single subscription that covers every album you own. Only the owner can add one, and you can start or stop it anytime.
Tip: You can turn the Chorus on a few days after publishing, years later, or anywhere in between. Nothing is ever deleted when you turn it off, and your editing access never changes.
