How do I get fewer emails?

Turn off one circle, stop product updates, or switch off all email from ShareLocket. Each has its own door, and you can undo any of them.

Where your choices live

Your email and text choices live in My Account, under How we reach you. There are two parts: news from us, and emails and texts from your circles.

Under News from ShareLocket, you'll find three switches:

  • All email from ShareLocket: When off, no circle or product email reaches you. Receipts, sign-in codes, and security alerts always do.
  • Product updates and tips: An occasional email about new features and helpful tips.
  • Updates by text message: We don't send updates by text just yet. This saves your choice for when we do.

There's no Save button. Each switch saves by itself as soon as you change it, and you can change it again any time.

Each circle has its own setting, so you can hear from one circle often and another less often. Under Emails and texts from your circles, every circle you're in has a Notifications button. It opens that circle's Notifications page, where you choose its emails and texts. See Choose how you hear from your circle.

Pick the amount that suits you

You don't have to leave anything to get a quieter inbox. There are three ways to turn the volume down, from smallest to biggest.

1. Turn off one circle

  1. Open any email from that circle.
  2. At the bottom, choose Unsubscribe.
  3. On the page that opens, choose Stop emails from the circle's name. That circle's emails stop, and your other circles aren't affected.

Once you've done that, the page shows Undo right there. If you'd rather hear from the circle less often than not at all, choose Daily summary or Weekly summary instead.

You can also do this from inside the circle: open it, choose Circle options, then Notifications, and pick what you'd like on the Email card. See Choose how you hear from your circle.

2. Stop product updates

  1. Open a product email from ShareLocket, choose Unsubscribe at the bottom, then choose Stop product updates on the page that opens.
  2. Or go to My Account, find News from ShareLocket, and turn off Product updates and tips.

Your circles' emails aren't affected.

3. Turn off all email from ShareLocket

  1. After you stop a circle's emails from an Unsubscribe link, choose Turn off all email from ShareLocket on the same page.
  2. Or go to My Account, find News from ShareLocket, and turn off All email from ShareLocket.

Receipts, sign-in codes, and security alerts still arrive.

To turn it back on, go to My Account and turn All email from ShareLocket on again. Each circle goes back to the choice you saved for it. If you join a new circle while it's off, the circle's welcome says Email is off for your account, so you won't hear from this circle by email until you turn it back on. Choose Turn email back on right there.

Good to know

  • Each switch and each unsubscribe takes effect right away. You can change the switches in My Account, and each circle's choice, at any time.
  • An Unsubscribe link keeps working for 90 days after we send the email.
  • An invitation email has an Unsubscribe link too. Choose Stop invitation emails on the page that opens, and you won't get invitation emails any more. Your circles are not affected. The page shows Undo right after. You can turn invitation emails back on in My Account.
  • Receipts, sign-in codes, and security alerts don't have an Unsubscribe link, because they're about your account. Even with everything off, you'll still see alerts on the website when you visit.
