Having trouble uploading photos?
Tips for failed or slow photo and video uploads, with the file sizes and formats an album accepts and what to try next.
Upload Troubleshooting
If your uploads are failing or taking a long time:
- Check your internet connection — uploads need a stable connection, especially for videos.
- File size — Photos can be up to 32 MB each; audio and video can be up to 5 GB each. PDFs can be up to 32 MB each. Each album includes 20 GB of storage. Very large videos can take a while to upload and process, so give them a few extra minutes. Files that are damaged or do not match their file type cannot be added.
- Supported formats — You can add photos (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, GIF, and WebP), videos (MP4, MOV, and WebM), audio (MP3 and WAV), and PDFs. Voice and video notes you record right in your album work too.
- Try again — Sometimes a quick refresh solves the problem.
If a photo is unavailable for an album, upload your own copy directly into that album. Files uploaded for another album or its cover cannot be reused as an album item. Removed or quarantined files cannot be attached or published.
If the problem persists, try uploading from a different device or browser.
