Managing your email addresses
Add up to 5 email addresses to your account, choose your primary, and use any of them to sign in or accept invitations.
Managing your email addresses
You can keep up to 5 email addresses on your ShareLocket account at the same time. That's helpful if friends and family know you by different addresses, or if you'd like one address for personal use and another for work.
Your primary address
One of your addresses is always your primary. That's where we send your account notifications, important alerts (like sign-in activity or password changes), and email receipts. We only send to one inbox at a time so we don't fill up several of yours with the same message.
What every verified address can do
Once an address is verified, you can:
- Sign in with it. Use any of your verified addresses on the sign-in page — you'll always land in the same account.
- Accept invitations sent to it. If a friend invites you using one of your verified addresses, we'll match it to your account automatically and add the album to your shelf.
Addresses you haven't verified yet can't sign in or match invitations — they're just waiting for you to confirm them.
Adding a new email address
- Tap your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Account Settings.
- Find the Email addresses section and tap Add an email.
- Type the address you'd like to add and tap Send code. We'll email a 6-digit code to that address.
- Open the inbox for the new address, find the email from us, and copy the code.
- Back on ShareLocket, paste or type the code and tap Verify. The address now shows up in your list with a Verified label.
If the code doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder. You can also tap Resend code next to the pending address to send a fresh one. Codes expire after 24 hours.
Making an address your primary
- In the Email addresses section, find the verified address you'd like to make primary.
- Tap Make primary next to it and confirm.
From then on, all notifications and account alerts go to that address. As an extra safety check, we'll also send a one-time message to your old primary letting you know the change happened — that way, if it wasn't you, you'll spot it right away.
You can only promote an address that's already verified. Pending addresses don't show a Make primary button until you've entered the code.
Removing an email address
- In the Email addresses section, find the address you'd like to remove.
- Tap Remove and confirm.
A few notes:
- You can't remove your primary address. If you want to remove the address that's currently primary, make a different verified address primary first, then remove the old one.
- You always need at least one verified address on your account, so we won't let you remove the last one.
- After you remove an address, any future invitations sent to it won't match your account automatically. (Invitations you've already accepted stay in place — they're tied to your account, not the address.) If you'd like to keep matching, add the address back any time.
If an address is already in use
Each email address can only belong to one ShareLocket account. If you try to add an address that's already on someone else's account, we'll let you know — but we won't tell you who has it. To use that address, sign in with it instead, or ask the other account holder to remove it from theirs.
