My text or email didn't post
What to check when something you texted or emailed to your circle doesn't show up: where you sent it from, where you sent it to, and the file.
This is for anyone who sent something to their circle by text or email and can't see it there. Work through these in order.
- Give it a moment. A photo appears once it has finished uploading and passed a short safety step, usually within moments.
- Send from a number or address you've confirmed. That's how we know a post is yours. If you send from one your account doesn't know, we write back to tell you, at most once a week. Add it in My Account under Email and phone, type in the code we send you, then send again.
- Send to the right place. Use the number and the posting address on your circle's Post from anywhere card. See Your circle's number and posting address.
- Replying to a summary email? Each summary email takes one reply, within 14 days. After that, use your posting address, or open the circle on the website. A summary's reply address isn't your posting address, so don't save it as a contact.
- Check the file. Photos, videos, voice recordings, PDFs, and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files can be texted or emailed in. If you send another kind, we write back to say it didn't make it. If your phone network finds a file too big to text, it never reaches us, so we can't write back: email it instead. See Having trouble uploading photos?
- Is the circle paused? A paused circle doesn't take new posts, and we write back to say so. See What does "paused" mean?
Texted quiet earlier? Then we only write back when something goes wrong, so no reply can mean it posted.
